  9. Your  list  of other assets and liabilities is maintained by selecting 
  10. the  "OTHER ASSETS/LIABILITIES" option from the main menu.  Using this 
  11. option  you  can  maintain  a  record  of your non-security assets and 
  12. liabilities  such  as bank accounts, money market funds, cash value of 
  13. life   insurance,   loans   payable,  etc.   These  other  assets  and 
  14. liabilities  along  with the value of securities in your portfolio are 
  15. used to compute your net worth.

  17. After  selecting  this  option, the "OTHER ASSETS/LIABILITIES" menu is 
  18. displayed listing the following options.

  40. RECORD A NEW ASSET OR LIABILITY

  42. You  will  select  one  of these options when you wish to establish an 
  43. asset  or liability with an associated account number and name.  After
  44. selecting  one  of  these options, the "ENTER NEW ASSET" or "ENTER NEW 
  45. LIABILITY"  data  entry  screen  will  appear and you are requested to 
  46. enter the information as listed in Table 7-2.

  48. After  entering  the  requested  data, you will be asked to verify the 
  49. data   you  entered  by  answering  the  question  "Are  these  values 
  50. correct?   Y/N".   Answer  by  typing  Y  if  the  displayed  data  is 
  51. correct.   Answer  by  typing N if you wish to go back and correct any 
  52. errors.

  71. Once  you  have  entered  your  data,  a  menu  listing  all  existing 
  72. portfolios  will be displayed.  Select the portfolio in which you want 
  73. the  asset  or  liability  to  appear.   If  you  have not created any 
  74. portfolios  this menu will not appear and your asset or liability will 
  75. automatically be recorded in the default portfolio.

  77. UPDATE AN ASSET OR LIABILITY
  78.  
  79. You  will  select  one  of  these  options when you wish to update the 
  80. present  value of an asset or liability.  After executing one of these 
  81. options,  the  "UPDATE  ASSET  IN"  or "UPDATE LIABILITY IN" menu will 
  82. appear,  as  appropriate, listing all existing portfolios.  Select the 
  83. portfolio  in  which  the  asset  or  liability  you  wish  to  update 
  84. resides.   If you have not created any portfolios the menu will not be 
  85. displayed  and  the  system  will  automatically  select  the  default
  86. portfolio.

  88. After  selecting  the  appropriate  portfolio,  the  "SELECT ASSET" or 
  89. "SELECT   LIABILITY"   menu  screen  appears  listing  all  assets  or 
  90. liabilities in your chosen portfolio by their descriptive name.

  92. Simply  select the asset or liability you wish to update from the menu 
  93. and  a  data  entry  screen  will  appear  listing the current account 
  94. number,  descriptive  name and account balance.  You may change any of 
  95. these  values  by  entering  new  data  or  you may retain the current 
  96. values  by  pressing  the enter key at the beginning of the data entry 
  97. field.

  100. DELETE AN ASSET OR LIABILITY
  101.  
  102. When  you  close  an  account  or pay off a loan you may select one of 
  103. these  options  to  remove  an asset or liability from your data base.  
  104. After  executing one of these options from the menu, the "DELETE ASSET 
  105. IN"  or  "DELETE  LIABILITY IN" menu will appear as appropriate.  This 
  106. menu  lists  your  existing  portfolios  (if  you have more than one).
  107. Select  the  portfolio  in  which  the  asset or liability you wish to 
  108. delete resides.

  113. After   selecting   the  portfolio,  the  "SELECT  ASSET"  or  "SELECT 
  114. LIABILITY"  menu  will  be displayed listing all assets or liabilities 
  115. in your selected portfolio.

  117. Select  the  asset  or  liability you want to delete from the menu and 
  118. the  current  values of your selection will be displayed.  You will be
  119. asked  the  question  "Are  you  sure  you want to delete this record?
  120. Y/N".  If  you  answer  this question by typing N, your record will be
  121. retained  by  the  system  and  you  will  be  returned  to the "OTHER
  122. ASSETS/LIABILITIES"  menu.   If you answer by typing Y the record will
  123. be erased from your file.
